'Input string was not in a correct format' Error When Uploading to Xero

If you get the following error message in the Last API Result field when attempting to upload from FileMaker to Xero (e.g. a Product, Invoice etc):

Input string was not in a correct format

this usually indicates an issue with the data that you're including in your upload request. For example with an Invoice or Bill this is often the result of missing or incorrect information for the line items, including:

  • including a blank line item
  • not including the unit price
  • including an invalid account code or tax type
  • including an invalid value for the qty

Double check the data in your FileMaker record to ensure it is valid and there are no missing values.
